Berin Orhan
Born in April 1985, Berin completed her first undergraduate degree in Physics at Istanbul Technical University (YTU) and her second degree in Psychology at Gedik University. In 2014, she earned a master's degree in Clinical Psychology with a thesis.
Her transformative journey began with parenthood, and she became interested in Montessori Philosophy. Subsequently, she received training in various fields, including Psychodynamic Theory (Hakan Kızıltan), Neuroscience, Integrative Somatic Psychotherapy (Raja Selvam), Bodynamic (Ditte Marcher), and Jungian Somatic (Jane Clapp). Her main areas of interest include dreams, the body, art, Sufism, depth psychology, motherhood, and women's identity.
Berin's master's thesis focused on the concept of handedness. During the same period, she participated in group therapy, art therapy, and dream analysis from a Jungian and Sufi perspective at the Transpersonal Psychology Institute, where she also served on the board of directors. Since 2019, her work has been primarily centered on the body.
She has been actively seeing clients since 2015 and lives in Mercan with her two sons. Berin, who is also the translation editor of the book "Meeting the Shadow," adds that she is the translation editor of "Jungian Dream Interpretation" in English to this text. She enjoys speaking with a literary style, traveling, and savoring every experience that makes her feel alive.

As Jungian Studies Istanbul, we invite you to our "Jungian Somatics and Somatic Alchemy" event, which will take place on October 4-5-6 in Istanbul and on October 7-8 at the Asklepion in Pergamon.
The first part of our event will start in Istanbul, led by Jane Clapp and Berin Orhan, focusing on Jungian somatic studies and somatic alchemy. Our participants will explore the deep connections between body and mind, body and psyche.
The second part of the event will take place at the historical Asklepion in Pergamon. On October 7-8, we will stay in the mystical atmosphere of the ancient healing center and conduct in-depth studies on somatic healing and Jungian alchemy.
After our studies at the ancient Asklepion, we will move to Pissa Bay in Dikili for a beach event and picnic. We will relax in nature, relieve the fatigue of the event, and deepen our sharing with each other.
This unique experience will offer participants an unforgettable journey of transformation, including both theoretical knowledge and practical applications.
